The Junior club shoots once a week from November till April.  We shoot four positions on the A-36 target in a 50 foot indoor range that has eight firing points.  This is competitive shooting.  Each junior is shooting against the other juniors for awards at the end of the season.  All equipment is provided by the club if the shooter does not own any (including rifles and ammunition).  Each first-time junior goes through weeks of safety training and learning how to shoot the positions before the season starts.  We charge $5 a week to cover for the cost of using the club and the equipment.  Every year, the junior club holds the Junior Sectionals.  These scores are sent in to the NRA, as are the scores from other juniors around the nation.  The NRA puts out a book of those scores, ranking each shooter.  In actuality, this is a national match because we shoot against juniors from around the country.  Some of our juniors also shoot high power matches with AR-15 rifles.  This is shot outdoors, so it's usually during the spring and summer.  If anyone, ages 12-20, would like to join the Junior club or receive more information, please contact one of the coaches.

Every year, most of our juniors go to the 3-position National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio.  We shoot during a long weekend competing against some of the best shooters in the country.
